Mission Opportunity: Toilet Paper Drive for Micah
This month in Sunday school our focus is on sharing God’s love with others. The kids will be collecting toilet paper for Micah Ministry until June 4. We invite you to bring toilet paper and place it in the collection box located in the church lobby. Thank you for supporting the Children’s Ministry Mission Project!
Micah Ministry is located in Kansas City, MO. Each Monday dinner is served to homeless adults and children. Guests also receive clothing and hygiene products from the clothing closet. Volunteers serve dinner and help distribute clothing and hygiene products.
Tall Oaks Summer Camp
School is almost out and it’s time to make plans for the summer! Register for summer camp at Tall Oaks! There are several day camps and overnight camps throughout the summer. This year’s theme is a FruitFULL Faith. Shawnee Community pays half of the cost for campers to attend summer camp. Additional scholarship opportunities are available through the region.

Tall Oaks is our Kansas City Disciples region’s camp and conference facilities in Linwood, KS. For over 50 years, children, youth and adults have attended camps, conferences and retreats at Tall Oaks. Tall Oaks is a great ministry of our region and an important part in the faith development of our children and adults.

Several of our youth have participated in Disciple Maker’s class this year and have chosen to be baptized, join our church or make a commitment of faith. It’s a day of celebration and welcoming!
There are baskets on the counter for cards outside the sanctuary for each youth who will be baptized. Please take time to shower them with good wishes.

All are invited to Picnic in the Park on Sunday, June 11 at Garrett Park (22325 W. 47th St, Shawnee, KS) following worship. Shelter 1 near the playground is reserved for our group. Please bring your lunch and lawn chairs or blankets. This is an opportunity for us to gather and connect.

Following worship is our All Church “Meet Your Elder” lunch. Baked potatoes and toppings along with tea and lemonade will be provided. If you have a favorite dessert, please bring to share.
This will be a great opportunity to get to know your elder as well as those in your group. We are all here to support each other! If you are able to help with setup, serving or cleanup, contact Nancy Wyle at 913-265-4108. This will allow the elders to sit with their groups.
