Sunday, June 23 • Disciple Maker Class

Youth who are part of the Disciple Maker Class will meet on Sunday, June 23 at 10:30 am in the Orange Room. One parent volunteer is needed to assist Pat Wyle. Email Patt Ludwick if you are able to volunteer.

No Youth Group On Sundays Over The Summer

Youth will not meet on Sundays during the summer. On Sundays, youth are encouraged to attend worship with their families. There are several fun events planned for over the summer for youth. All events are for youth entering 8th grade in the fall through 12th grade. Please RVSP to Patt Ludwick, director of family ministry. One travel consent form may be used for the entire summer. Please fill out a consent form prior to the first event your youth is attending and return to Patt Ludwick.

June 30 at 10:00 am: Mission trip information meeting for youth and parents. Meet in the youth room between services.

• June 30: Swim and Fun at the Ludwicks. Leave after second service. Return to church by 7:00 pm. Bring your swim suit and towel, favorite snack food, and clothes to change into.

• July 14-20: Mission Trip to Ft. Worth Texas

July 28: Mission Trip Sunday, Youth who participated in the mission trip will share their experiences in both the 9:00 am and 10:30 am service.

July 28: Picnic at Shawnee Community Park. Leave after second service. Return to church by 4:00 pm. Bring a sack lunch, outdoor games.

Sept 8: Kick Off for our new youth group. Middle school: 6th and 7th grade. High School: 8th – 12 grade (8th grade this year only). Sunday – 4:00-5:30. Parent meeting 4:00-4:30.

Volunteers are needed to help with the Micah Ministry Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, May 23. We will meet at the church at 5:15 to carpool to Micah. Students will assist with serving dinner, busing tables and washing dishes. We will be done by 7:30 and return to church by 8:00. You can sign up by contacting Patt Ludwick at familyministry@shawneecommunity.org or sign up in the youth room. Travel consent forms will need to be filled out by parents. 2 parent/youth volunteer chaperones are required for this event. This is a great way to put our feet into action serving for Jesus!

On Sunday, April 28, several students went to Ronald McDonald House and prepared food for families staying there while their kids receive medical treatment.

Youth who are going to Ronald McDonald House must have a completed permission form to attend. Youth should wear nice jeans, shirt and closed toe shoes. Bring a sack lunch to eat at church before leaving for Ronald McDonald House. Over lunch, youth will plan meal to be served at Ronald McDonald House. Youth and adult sponsors will shop for groceries and then go to the house to prepare the meal. Parents/guardians may pick up their child at 4:30 pm at the church.
