Pastor Johnny continues the worship series, Unfair God. Join us Sunday as we continue to examine those times in the Gospel when God is an “Unfair God.” This is a great opportunity to invite a friend. Services at 9:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.
We are over the 3,000 item mark! Can we make it 5,000 by Sunday, September 17th? Only a couple of more weeks to bring your food or cash donations.
Our goal is to donate 5,000 items from the Shawnee Community Services food list. Cash donations also accepted. $1 equals two canned items toward our goal. If we collect 10,000 items (or the money to purchase them) Johnny will shave his head bald during worship in October. You can give to this offering or to our General Fund by clicking here. To give to the “5K of Love” choose it from the drop-down menu of special offerings.

Wear your costume and join us for this great FREE family event featuring trunk-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, music, games and a bounce house! Don’t forget to invite your friends and neighbors. This is a great event for our community.
Volunteers are needed to help make this event a success. This is always one of our largest events and many hands and trunks are needed! Please consider bringing a car or two and decorate it for trunk-or-treat. Volunteers are also needed to help monitor the bounce house and games. If you would like to volunteer please fill out the volunteer form or contact Julie Wilcox at connections@shawneecommunity.org. Sign-up sheets will also be available at the Connection Corner on Sunday.
Visit the Connection Corner on Sunday and sign up for an adult small group. Each group will meet and discuss the message from the previous Sunday. If you miss a Sunday, you can always listen to the sermon on the website.
There are three groups meeting this fall. This is a great opportunity to connect with people outside of Sunday service.

Celebrate over 50 years of camp and conferences at Tall Oaks at the Annual Tall Oaks Gala on Friday, October 13th at Arrowhead Stadium North Club. Stadium tours begin at 5:45 p.m. followed by a silent auction, dinner and a spirited live auction. Free childcare provided.
Tickets are $90.00 per person but Shawnee Community will pay $30.00 of the ticket price for the first two tables of 8 that are reserved. Reservations are due by September 30th. Donations for the silent and live auctions are needed. Are you creative and would love to put a basket together for the silent auction? Maybe a movie night basket or a spa basket? Tall Oaks Camp & Conference Center is a ministry of the Greater Kansas City Region. For over 50 years, children, youth and adults have attended camps, conferences and retreats at Tall Oaks. Tall Oaks also serves many other groups in our community such as summer camps for young people with muscular dystrophy, juvenile diabetes, autism and foster kids. All proceeds from the gala will benefit this wonderful ministry in our region. Thank you for your support!
