January 24, 2021 Ministry Update

We are happy that we will be able to worship in person together on Sunday, January 30th. The Health & Safety Team thanks you for your understanding about worshipping virtual the last two weeks. Below is a reminder of our current COVID policies.

Masks: Due to the winter and the appearance of the Omicron variant we want to continue wearing masks for now. We will continue to watch the numbers in our community and will reassess in late February.

Communion: We will offer the individual prepackaged communion at this time. If numbers and spread decreases in our community, we will add back the individual cups of bread and juice.

Coffee Bar: At this time, we will not provide the coffee bar.

Outside groups: We have allowed outside groups such as the Boy Scouts to use the building again.

Community Kids: Children’s ministry and nursery are available during Sunday service. Children 5 and older will need to wear a mask. Most of our children’s ministry and nursery staff are fully vaccinated. We will follow proper physical distancing, mask wearing and hand hygiene to keep our kids safe. Email Patt Ludwick, director of family ministry, if you have questions. Patt and the staff are excited to see their kiddos!

Student Ministry: Student ministry for youth grade 6-12 continues to connect during this time with social events and ministry opportunities. Email Patt Ludwick, director of family ministry, to connect.

Giving: Your generosity is critical to our ministry during this time. We are so appreciative to all of you that have started or increased giving so that our ministry can continue to offer hope and connection to people. If you haven’t done it, we encourage you to automate your monthly or weekly giving online. If you have questions or problems setting this up, please email giving@shawneecommunity.org.
