The Civil Rights Story In The Heart Of America

Join us on Sunday, May 5 for guest speaker, Erik Stafford, who will present the Civil Right Story in the Heart of America during the 9:00 and 10:30 am services. Please join us for this opportunity to learn more about the history of our city.

Erik Stafford is a native of Kansas City. He is the sole proprietor of the Kansas City Tour Company and conducts tours of the historic sites in the Kansas City area and presents interactive, historic slide show presentations, that allow people to make the connections between the past, present and future through history. In May of 2017, Erik published Script From 12th to 18th Street a condensed, factual account of Jim Crow Segregation in the Heart of America. In August 2018, Erik was referenced in the New York Times article, On a Civil Rights Trail, Essential Sights and Indelible Detours written by Ron Stodghill discussing 18th and Vine’s contribution to the National Civil Rights Movement.
