Join us for worship on Sunday, April 24th at 10:00 a.m., in person or streaming online, as we celebrate Faith Sunday! Several of our youth have participated in Disciple Maker’s class this year and have chosen to be baptized, join our church or make a commitment of faith.

Children from Children’s Ministry will also be singing at the beginning of the service. Kids will stay in the service to watch the baptisms and join in the celebration. It’s going to be a great day at Shawnee Community!

Installation Service for Tabatha

On Sunday, May 1st we will celebrate the installation of Tabatha as our pastor at Shawnee Community. Representatives from the Greater Kansas City Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will help lead the service. Following worship, we will have an all church lunch and celebration. Summer Camp at Tall Oaks

Registration for summer camps at Tall Oaks is now open. Tall Oaks offers several day camps and overnight camps throughout the summer. Get out your calendars and start looking ahead to warmer weather and fun at Tall Oaks! Early Bird Registration is until May 15th.

Tall Oaks is our Kansas City Disciples region’s camp and conference facilities in Linwood, KS. For over 50 years, children, youth and adults have attended camps, conferences and retreats at Tall Oaks. Tall Oaks is a great ministry of our region and an important part in the faith development of our children and adults.

Maundy Thursday Service Tonight

Palm Sunday Celebration

Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday!

On Saturday, April 9th, we are excited to finally welcome back our neighbors for our Easter Egg Hunt! There will be photos with the Easter Bunny, a bounce house, a cake walk and of course the Easter Egg Hunt. We need your help to make this a success. Below is a sign-up genius link for volunteers to help us welcome our neighbors and ensure the event runs smoothly. Please consider how you can be a part of this important event in the life of our church.

Additionally, we need cakes, cookies and cupcake donations for the cake walk. Donations can be delivered to church on Friday, April 8 between 1-2:00 p.m. or before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

We greatly appreciate your support to make this event a success. We have missed out on the opportunity to connect with our neighbors over the last couple of years and truly live out the mission and values we repeat each Sunday – “to invite our neighbors to experience and share God’s love.”
