Love Fund Collection

Shawnee Community Family,

As we’ve continued to move out of the shadow of the pandemic, our wonderful staff has kept everything rolling smoothly behind the scenes to ensure that we are able to continue and grow in our mission. One way we show them our appreciation every year is through the “Staff Love Fund” collected in February.

Please make sure you mark your check or envelope with “Staff Love Fund.” To give, place your contribution in the offering plate on Sunday, mail contributions to the church or visit the Shawnee Community website to make a one-time gift. There is a special drop-down to designate your gift as being for the Staff Love Fund. We will collect contributions until March 5th. Let’s say thank you to our awesome staff and let them know how much we appreciate them and all they do!

Sincerely,

Shawnee Community Board

Join Us for Worship on Sunday

Sunday, February 12 • 10:00 a.m.

Join us at 10:00 a.m., either in person or streaming live on Facebook, as we continue our sermon series, What’s Broken Can Be Mended. On Sunday we will examine, What’s Broken Can Be Mended: Cracks In Everything.

We learn, we hear, we teach that God IS Love. That all love comes from God and God continually shares that love with each one of us. No matter what. And yet…we just don’t always feel it. Or know it. Or see it. It’s right there, all the time, and yet sometimes we just can’t believe it.

If God is love, then why do we feel unlovable?

See You on Sunday

Sunday, February 5th • 10:00 am

Join us at 10:00 am, either in person or streaming live on Facebook, as we continue our sermon series, What’s Broken Can Be Mended. On Sunday we will examine, What’s Broken Can Be Mended: It Can Begin With You.

We all have a starting point in life—but some of us start out behind others based on the mental and spiritual health of our family. Some families repeat generational cycles of abuse, mistrust, and pain. We can see those broken systems in our society, and we all wonder how individuals, families, and our society at large can find healing.

But where does our healing begin? What makes the harmful cycles break and how can we create healthy ones for the future?

Church in Community Team

We’re starting a new Team to focus and plan how and when we make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. We’ll look at practical ways we can volunteer, collect goods, and be present in our community. If you’re interested in helping plan out our work in the community for the next year please talk with Tabatha (tabatha@shawneecommunity.org) about joining this team.
