Christmas is supposed to be a time full of joy and happiness but sometimes the Christmas season can be hard for those who are experiencing grief and loss. Join us tonight for a Blue Christmas Service at 6:30 pm.
Blue Christmas is a gathering for those who have experienced loss and grief. It will be a time of reflection, comfort, hope, and healing. This service is open to all of our community. Please share this event with anyone who may need comfort during this season.

It is great to see many faces returning to in person service! The Health & Safety Committee (formerly the Reopening Committee) wanted to give you an update regarding our procedures for COVID-19.
Masks: Due to the winter and the appearance of the Omicron variant we want to continue wearing masks for now. We will continue to watch the numbers as we move into the New Year.
Communion: We plan to continue to offer the individual prepackaged communion but we will also add the option of individual juice and bread in cups at the communion table.
Coffee bar: We plan to reopen the coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar in the back of the worship space. We need volunteers to help set up before church or clean up after. Please contact Ashley Follett at communications@shawneecommunity.org if you would like to volunteer.
Outside Groups: We have allowed outside groups such as the Boy Scouts to use the building again.

Join us for a casual, family friendly, Christmas Eve worship service with Christmas music, candle lighting, activities for kids ages 0-4th grade and communion for all people who desire to receive it without any exceptions. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.
Make plans to join us on Sunday at 10:00 am for a Family Christmas service complete with a retelling of the Christmas story by our children, singing Christmas carols and family communion.
Following worship, we will have Soup with Santa. Santa will be available for pictures, we will have Christmas cookies to decorate, and a fun craft the kids can make and take home. It’s going to be a fun day at Shawnee Community!

Mike and Sandy Allen are hosting a Nativity Open House on Saturday, December 11th from 6-8:00 p.m. Bring your family and enjoy a fun evening. You are welcome to come and go or come and stay! View over 400 nativities they’ve collected while traveling. 33 countries are represented! There will also be a Nativity Scavenger Hunt. Snack, tea and lemonade will be provided. Where do we go when life doesn’t go according to our plans? Sometimes it seems like we need to go back somewhere in order to go forward in our life. When this happens, how does God become the place that we can always return to when we’re struggling with how our life is going?
Following worship at 10:00 am, we will hold a congregational meeting. During the meeting the 2022 budget will be reviewed and the 2022 leadership team will be presented for a vote. For those of you joining us via livestream, we will include the link to vote in the chat of the livestream. For those of you in-person, you will be able to vote during the meeting
