When Family Hurts, Grace Builds Chosen Family

We all know the idealized image of the perfect family—the Norman Rockwell dinner table where everyone gets along, laughs effortlessly, and shows up unconditionally. But for so many neighbors in our community, that picture doesn’t match reality. Families can be deeply complicated, and when the bonds that are supposed to protect us instead bring pain, dysfunction, or rejection, it carries a very specific, heavy kind of grief.
